Well, the answer to that question lies in timing. How long will you actually be on the beach, a few hours or all day? I prefer a short stay on the beach because the draw of unique shops and restaurants always proves to be stronger than my will to tan. Whether you are a camper or short stay visitor, there are a few items every person should have while enjoying the sandy beach. First of all, a waterproof sunblock is a must! Regardless of how long you plan to stay, you will need a SPF Rating of 30 or higher. The next must bring item is a beach towel or chair. Some beaches do allow you to rent a chair so remember to bring a few dollars on your next excursion. If possible, pick up a beach umbrella for extra shade. This is especially important for beach campers who plan on staying on the beach all day. An ice chest is also recommended for those sunny beach days. You will need plenty of water to fight dehydration. If you plan on camping, then fill that ice chest with food as well. These items should make your overall beach experience pleasurable.
